Behaviour

Be nice to each other-It goes without saying that no matter where you go when there is more than one person clashes of opinions or personalities tend to occur. If it's just a case of you not liking someone because of the way they are happy-happy or just somewhat sullen then just leave it, it's not worth getting in trouble for it. If it is a genuine grievance then come to me and I'll see about and I'll try to settle it. I'd rather both parties be happy than boot someone.

No sexual harassment-This one is more or less self explanatory. Harassment can be taken from subtle remarks to a full blown picture of your private parts to someone. Everyone has different limits to what they'd call harassment but as soon as you feel it’s gone from a bit of flirty fun to something that feels wrong then challenge the person to stop. If they persist then tell me and I'll see what I can do. If found to be harassing someone you WILL be booted from the site. No excuses, no second chances

No trolling-Be it in the mission or fun OOC trolling is an offense. Trolling is more or less posting remarks to either upset or provoke an aggressive response for your own amusement. If I see anyone posting along the lines that a certain terrorist attack involving buildings and planes was fake and/or funny then the post will be deleted and you'll be given an official warning. Three warnings and you're gone.

Posting

Post length, spelling and grammar-Writing is something that takes a bit of care and effort. Minimum posting length for a single post (SP) is 300 words which to me is reasonable. For joint posts (JP) it depends on the post in question however give your partner(s) plenty to work on and you can be assured they'll do the same. We're human so mistakes can happen when it comes to spelling or grammar (ten points if you can spot one in this thread) so read over what you've typed up before posting it.

Posting Frequency-Another nugget that usually causes trouble with people is how often they post. Now obviously if you can rattle one a day that's great but don't expect everyone to match your speed. I've got a 5 day a week, 9-5 job and I'm able to post every day out of sheer determination and luck. If you're doing a JP and have to dip off for a bit then tell people. Standard frequency is 1 POST A WEEK until further notice. It's one of those rules that will constantly change and I'll flag it up for people if I decide it's one of those times.

Welcome to the real world, Neo-There is a major difference between in character (IC) and out of character (OOC) when it comes to opinions, likes etc. Using your character as a platform for your opinions is poor taste and will be spotted quickly. Also opinions against your character don't (or shouldn't) reflect onto you. My guy might want to beat the crap out of yours, doesn't mean I want to do the same to you. Don't take things to heart and don't give people grief over it.

Check before you JP-Let's face it, coming onto the site and finding your character has been wounded/brigged out of the blue would annoy you. If you're going to do a JP then make sure the person you intend to write with knows prior to what's going on. That way they can agree to whatever plot you wish to convey or talk about any changes. Ask before you post.

Look Ma, no reality!-Of course science fiction/fantasy does lack the small print which is reality but that's no reason it should cloud common sense. Reality keeps the world together and common sense, although not so common, is needed when it comes to this type of activity. For example on one simm a player posted that his character punched a marine and was sent to the brig. Now out of character whenever challenged by other players would swear black and blue that wasn't assault. Back to the world of the simm an admiral sprung out of nowhere and freed said defendant because he knew the guy's boyfriend. If I see anything like this you'll be warned casually at first and told to amend. Repeat and you'll get a strike towards your three. Which brings me to my next topic...

What if God was one of us?-This one ties in with the reality rule above but has earned enough notoriety to be a stand alone subject. God-modding is a variety of activities that just really hack people off. You can get a more direct example of god-modding where characters are suddenly limitless in their abilities and knowledge, like a marine somehow closing the black hole with Dr Whoisms. Indirect god-modding comes under taking control of another player's character without express permission. Not even I have the right to do that and it's my site. If you don't know you're god-modding then ask because sooner or later you'll find out.
